Here are the best trends for 2021 according to Fap!

In the world of ceramics, September marks the beginning of the year, with exciting new products and good design resolutions that will be showcased at Cersaie.

While we wait for the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings, let’s take a look at the best trends for 2021. It was a difficult year, which brought us into more intimate contact with home interior design, but also a year full of great ideas, new reflections and new ways of living and experiencing space!

Sustainable design

Today, more than ever, there is an anthropocentric vision of space, devoted to the wellbeing of people and connection with natural elements.

Interiors conceived in a sustainable way, with natural, regenerated, recycled or, on the contrary, highly technological elements, but always eco-sustainable.

Hybrid and multifunctional environments

This year, interiors have been converted into hybrid and multi-purpose spaces, which can be adapted as required to function as an office or gym in the day, and as a comfortable living and lounge area at night. Open spaces, minimal furnishings, with clean lines to create depth and freedom of movement.

Nature in the home

The need to connect with nature has transformed homes, offices, and terraces into gardens full of flowers, green and medicinal plants, and vertical gardens. When these essences are missing, the new decorative, more glamourous trends come into play, focusing on furnishings, accessories, upholstery with floral and botanical themes which make the environment more evocative, fascinating and relaxing.

Wood effect tiles

In 2021 this trend become even stronger!

Wood effect stoneware tiles, not only on the floor but also on walls and ceilings, highlighting the desire to be surrounded by nature.

A trend that will surely amaze us at Cersaie, and make its mark on interior design in the years to come!

Tactile design

Nature can also be seen in the choice of materials: vibrant, organic, tactile, capable of creating immersive, enveloping environments, corroborating one of the most recent and interesting trends in the world of ceramics: floors that are increasingly full-bodied, rich and textured, and 3D wall tiles that are increasingly original.

Trendy colours

The colour range has been dominated by neutral, mellow colours inspired by natural elements such as the earth, sky, sea, green plants…to create regenerating and welcoming environments.

The colour range also includes shades of grey, cold tones and more intense nuances such as dark, elegant blue.

What awaits us at Cersaie 2021?

Certainly a design that speaks to all the senses, not just the eyes, capable of evoking tactile and sensorial experiences, memories and emotions!

FAP has based the study of its new collections on this new multisensory approach in which the usual traditional craftsmanship meets contemporary design.

We look forward to revealing everything at Cersaie 2021!
