Here are the secrets for cleaning the bathroom and the grout between the tiles.

The bathroom is that privileged space where we can relax, enjoying intimate moments without haste, but it is also the space where we take a record-breaking shower and put on our make-up in no time, especially when we’re late. Cleaning the bathroom is inevitably put off till later, however much we would love to have shining, smear-free surfaces. The cleaning of the bathroom tiles must be done regularly and with care, otherwise dirt can accumulate and even limestone becomes more difficult to remove. So here are some secrets for cleaning the bathroom tiles in a natural, effort-free way.

The drips that remain when we’re in a hurry can leave stains and limescale smears.
To remove them, simply spray the shower cubicle with a 50-50 mixture of water and white vinegar, leave on for a few minutes and dry with a wiper blade and polish with a (preferably anti-static) cloth.

To clean the tiles, just add a few drops of washing-up liquid or Marseilles soap (the ‘greener’ the better) to the water-white vinegar mixture, mix and spray onto the tiles, rub with a non-abrasive sponge, rinse with warm water and dry with a dry cloth.

How to clean the grout between the tiles!

The grout between the tiles often causes the greatest grief, but keeping it clean is quite simple.
Equip yourself with a toothbrush, baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Wet the powder with a few drops, dip in the toothbrush and rub along the grout between the tiles. With a little elbow grease, it’ll be good as new.

Another unbeatable tool for cleaning the bathroom is steam.
If you have a steam appliance, go over the surface and the grouting with a steam jet before traditional cleaning, and you will be assured an impeccable result and a deep-down sanitising action.
